18日13時から観音護摩供法要を開催します。
六角堂において護摩を焚き、皆様のお願いごとを祈願いたします。
どなた様でも無料でご参拝いただけますので、是非お越しください。

【本日の豆知識 ~如意輪観音~】
本年の大河ドラマの主役・紫式部には、紫式部観音化身説というものがあります。
これは、1人の女性が『源氏物語』のような立派な物語を書けるはずがないから、観音菩薩などが女性に変化して物語を通して教えを説いているのだろう、と考える説です。

Priests burn Soegomagi (small pieces of wooden board, on which your wishes are written) to pray Nyoirin-Kannon for the fulfillment of your wishes.
Everyone is welcome to join the rites.

[Today's bits of knowledge about Nyoirin-Kannon]
There is a theory that Murasaki-Shikibu, the main character of this year's NHK historical drama, is an incarnation of Kannon.
This theory is based on the idea that it is impossible for a woman to write such a fine story as The Tale of Genji, so Kannon and others transformed into women and preached their teachings through stories.
