I am a foreigner who started collecting goshuins when I saw my friend in Japan doing it. I found the goshuins beautiful with their calligraphy and the designs. Visiting temples and shrines bring some tranquility and serenity in a hectic life. These places are where one can just enjoy the scenery and take time to pause and live in the present. The goshuins become souvenirs of those tranquil times.
