Koto-ji Temple was founded in 1940 at the invitation of Tokyo Rakutenchi Co., Ltd. to pray for the development of the Koto and Honjo area as a annex temple of Bando 16th Fudasho-ji Temple (Mizusawa Kanzeon, Ikaho-cho, Gunma Prefecture).

And the ceremony of entering the Buddhist ceremony was held for about 2 kilometers from Ryogoku Eko-in. However, on March 10, 20, a major fire was encountered in the downtown area, and the temple was finally damaged and both the main hall were burned down. Fortunately, the principal image of Senju Kanzeon Bodhisattva and Wakishi Fudo Myoo has already been returned to Suzawa-dera Temple and was able to escape the difficulties. In the following year, 21 years, it was quickly rebuilt in the midst of the chaos of the times, and due to the implementation of a large land readjustment after the war, it was relocated to its current location in 24 and continues to this day.

In addition, the current main hall was rebuilt by reinforced concrete construction in 1980, and the Kuriri was newly built with steel frame construction in 1994.

Finally, this temple is directly in front of the south exit of Kinshicho Station on the JR Sobu Line, in the bustling center of Kinshicho, and is a downtown temple commonly known as Koto Kanzeon and popular as a dojo of faith.
