On the 28th, we conduct the Fudō Myōō Goma rite from 1:00 p.m. in the main hall. Priests burn Soegomagi, or small pieces of wooden board, on which your wishes are written, in order to pray to Fudō Myōō for the fulfillment of your wishes. Everyone is welcome to join the rite, so please come to our temple.
[Today’s bits of knowledge¬¬ about Fudō Myōō] The sword of Fudō Myōō is sometimes called "Eto". The original meaning of "E" includes "wise," "reaching enlightenment," and "wisdom," and the sword of Fudō Myōō is emphasized not as a symbol of violence, but as a symbol of intellect.
[About Naijin-mairi] During the Fudō Myōō "Goma", you can visit the "Naijin(inner sanctuary)", a sacred place where the goma altar and the principal image are enshrined. Normally, worshippers are not allowed to enter, but during the Fudō Myōō "Goma", you can enter the inner sanctuary, feel the goma flames up close, and pray in front of the principal image. You will be called out when the time comes, so please follow the instructions. (You cannot enter the inner sanctuary freely.)
